About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Apheresis Specialist to join our team. As a clinical professional, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the delivery of high-quality apheresis services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform apheresis procedures autonomously in multiple settings, including critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers.
- Conduct venipunctures, access central venous catheters, and manage vortex and bard ports with precision and accuracy.
- Demonstrate expertise in therapeutic apheresis procedures, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, platelet reduction, photopheresis, and hematopoietic progenitor cell collection.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses at various hospitals to arrange therapeutic apheresis treatments and facilitate coordinated care.
- Evaluate patient medication for compatibility and safety of apheresis procedures, ensuring seamless communication with healthcare teams.
Requirements
- A current state licensure as a Registered Nurse and CPR certification is required.
- Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and work experience.
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing, OR-related experience.
- Previous apheresis or dialysis experience is beneficial but not required.
