Job Summary:
Under limited supervision The Business Development Representative markets to Businesses and Military Personnel in a specified territory to generate interest among Human Resource personnel, employees of the business, educators, and potential students. This position generates inquiries and enrollments, as well as increases positive awareness of the University. The BDR has the responsibility to conduct activities in accordance with state, federal, accreditation, and ANU policies and regulations, and consistent with the highest ethical standards. Incumbent must assure that the ANUs philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking, and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Key Job Elements:
- Manage inquiries to achieve prompt contact and performance activity weekly goals; utilizes approved enrollment policies/formats; make prompt and effective contact with inquiries and redirects unqualified candidates based upon incompatible career goals.
- Schedules and conducts visits to appropriate businesses and military facilities. Maintains a future calendar recorded daily and meets weekly, monthly, and annual production goals.
- Utilizes technology, public speaking skills, and all presentation materials to deliver effective multimedia presentations. Keeps abreast of the current industry and American National University school information to use for presentation purposes.
- Schedules and conducts interviews, pursue qualified candidates for enrollment and determines the appropriateness of candidates for admission based upon career goal compatibility.
- Participates in appropriate recruitment and enrollment events, regional presentations, training sessions, conference calls, and other events.
- Conducts all activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards. Exhibits professionalism by maintaining a positive attitude and adhering to departmental policies and procedures. Adheres to all state, federal, accreditation, and Institute rules and regulations regarding student recruitment and admissions.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Sales results-oriented.
- Computer literate on a windows platform; working knowledge of MS Office.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with people from a variety of social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently, problem-solve, and demonstrate sound judgment.
Abilities:
- Have the ability to lift and transport at least 20lbs of presentation materials.
- Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
- Is goal-oriented and Highly ethical.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
