What are the responsibilities and job description for the Actuarial Valuation - Associate Actuary II position at American National?
We are seeking an experienced Associate Actuary II to join our Deferred Annuity Valuation team. Responsibilities include improving the processes used to perform and communicate complex actuarial analyses such as actuarial exhibits, reserving, modeling, other data analyses and other tasks as assigned. Should also be able to train less experienced Actuarial Analysts.
This position is located onsite, in League City, TX.

What You'll Do
- Perform GAAP, STAT, TAX valuation for Equity Indexed Annuities (EIA) and Fixed Deferred Annuities (FDA).
- Assist on annuity earning analysis.
- Prepare cession statement for reinsurance treaties.
- Work with modeling team to maintain GGY-Axis valuation models, including model enhancement, methodology changes, assumption updates, etc. Perform UAT testing for model changes.
- Develop experience studies and make assumption update recommendations.
- Maintain and enhance valuation and modeling documentation.
- Fulfill requests for internal and external auditors.
- Help prepare stat annual statement deliverables.
- Work with IT to help resolve any data issues impacting valuation.
- Prepares for and progresses in the SOA examinations through on-the-job and home study.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Six to eight years of actuarial experience
- ASA or FSA designation
- Annuity valuation experience
- Prior experience with actuarial modeling software.
- Moody's AXIS experience is a plus.
