The Policy Change Analyst Processes health policy changes, maintains proper coding to rates, maintains departmental procedures, and is a vital resource for the knowledge-base, testing and updating of systems. The incumbent performs a variety of routine work within established policies and procedures and receives detailed instructions on new projects and assignments.

Essential Functions
- Plays key role in divisional systems; participates in system testing of enhancements and upgrades, maintains thorough knowledge, and trains fellow employees on various systems.
- Assists in solving problems to ensure conservation of Company business (i.e. handling of complicated files.
- Assists in creating and maintaining procedures within the department.
- Assists in analyzing and improving both manual and automated systems within the department for an efficient work flow.
- Performs proper coding of master relative to all rate changes and Anniversary processing.
- Conducts preliminary underwriting while processing all types of policy changes (reissues, effective date changes, additions, deletions, benefit changes, plan changes, year changes); policy conversions; reinstatement of lapsed policies; replacements and non-renewals.
- Assists in maintaining and monitoring department expenses within budgetary guidelines by taking steps to ensure better cost efficiency and planning to ensure proper utilization of all resources available for most cost-effective use.
- Associate degree in a related field.
- 3 years of insurance-related experience may substitute for the education requirement.
- Requires an in-depth knowledge of general insurance policies.
- LOMA courses preferred; HIAA courses.
