$19.66 - $34.59Position SummaryThe lead pharmacy technician is responsible for performing all duties required of a pharmacy technician including but not limited to:
Technician Duties: perform a variety of complex technical skills and functions in the preparation of chemotherapeutic and other hazardous/nonhazardous agents. To carry out the assignments of this position, the technician must possess first-rate techniques in sterile product preparation, a thorough understanding of the principles of biological safety cabinets, and a knowledge base of antineoplastic/cytotoxic agents including the precautions needed in the handling of these products.
Lead Technician Duties: Responsible to assist in the organization and implementation of all aspects related to clinic pharmacy operations. Act as team lead for assigned staff including newly hired pharmacy staff. Act as a resource person for all office staff and patients in resolving clinic-pharmacy issues. The Incumbent will be responsible for working with their immediate supervisor to ensure proper staffing of the pharmacy at all times. The lead will work to address all inventory management discrepancies, while supporting any charge discrepancy reporting and documentation. Will ensure that the clinic- pharmacy and pharmacy staff are working in compliance with all applicable company policies as well as state and federal regulations.
All Pharmacy Technicians are expected to maintain a high degree of accurate productivity and performance while being extremely sensitive to the specific contribution of total patient care. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the ordering and inventory of medications, clinical supplies and act as liaison between Physicians, Nursing, Pharmacy Leads, Supervisors, Managers and Procurement staff in obtaining special order medications.
QualificationsEducation
High School Diploma required, College degree preferred.
Previous Experience
Minimum of five years' experience in the healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.
CPhT Certification required, CSPT preferred.
Medical terminology and attention to detail is desirable.
Fluency in the English language as well as strong communication skills to interact with a wide variety of personalities.
Must be willing to travel occasionally to educational and research meetings as well as training sessions.
Valid Driver's License for travel to clinics is required.

Certifications/Licenses
Pharmacy Technician Registration.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB).
Valid state Driver's License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required. As a reminder those who drive must provide copies of the declarations page of their personal insurance policy for each vehicle that they can use to the Human Resources Department for verification purposes annually.
