What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Front Desk Receptionist position at American Orthopedic Partn?
We are seeking a qualified Front Desk Receptionist to join our Physical Therapy department. Core responsibilities include:
- Provide general administrative and clerical support prepping patient charts for office visits
- Answer phone calls, check and manage voicemail messages, promptly respond to overnight voicemail messages, and respond to text messages in a timely manner to ensure effective communication and support
- Ensures all reports are in the chart prior to the office visit
- Obtain authorization for Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy services
- Accurately inputs patient’s information into computer
- Verifies that eligibilities are in the patient’s chart and documented into the therapy referral prior to being seen by therapist
- Other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills & Experience
- Candidate must have a High School Diploma
- Knowledge of Medical Insurance Guidelines and requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Excellent time management skills
- Medical office background experience preferred
- Multi-tasker
- Candidate should be familiar with EMR

The ideal Front Desk Receptionist candidate will have strong communication skills, customer service skills, organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities, attention to detail, computer skills, and must have advanced knowledge of eClinicalWorks, NaviNet, Availity, and Pear. They should also be able to work under pressure in fast-paced situations all while maintaining a friendly disposition.
