Summary
Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role is responsible for directing and managing plant
operations with overall responsibility for the production, tool room, and quality departments. The
The Plant Manager will be a key member of the American Pan leadership team, ensuring the execution
of our manufacturing processes in a high-mix environment, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
As a member of the leadership team, the Plant Manager will drive Operational Excellence
through planning and process improvement using Lean principles.
This role directly manages the Assistant Plant Manager, Production Supervisors, Tool Room
Supervisor, Quality Manager, and Plant Administrative Support. There are 200 hourly
employees across three shifts.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Directs and manages plant operations for production, tooling, and quality activities.
- Serves as the primary direct report for all facility personnel.
- Maintains and enforces OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Works with the Corporate Safety team to identify opportunities and execute safety improvements.
- Identifies areas for process improvement and utilizes lean principles to coordinate improvement projects with the leadership team
- Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Implements cost-effective systems for control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
- Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment. Replaces or adjusts plant facilities and equipment when necessary.

- Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives through people development.
- Recommends or implements measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Recommends personnel action including, but not limited to, annual evaluations, promotions, and hiring.
