Job Description
Job Title: Refrigeration Production Supervisor
Summary: Oversees the building of industrial refrigeration units, to include testing units and prepare for shipment, in addition coordinate production scheduling for the building of blast chillers by performing the following duties. Will oversee scheduling and routine refrigeration production activities as well as acting as the first line of support for troubleshooting should problems arise. Will oversee the department safety of team members assist with employee relations, ensure the quality and efficiency of producing the company’s finish product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Planning the production schedule for the following.
- Building refrigeration units by accumulating materials and parts, construct evaporator and condenser, install parts on evaporator and condenser and visually inspect for proper building and proper material installations.
- Testing units by evacuating unit to eliminate condensable and foreign matter, leak check and charge system with appropriate refrigerant, start and check unit for proper functions, test electrical components and actions on both evaporator and condenser, check ground and capacity of compressor and other electrical parts.
- Packing unit for shipment by wrapping unit/parts in plastic, secure unit in crate or make crate as needed, and labeling crate for shipment.
Chillers: Maintain project schedules, monitor labor, materials and equipment, oversees troubleshooting when warranted to include repair HVAC and Chiller systems, circuits and equipment. Oversees the inspection and testing of components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, gensets and switch gear/panelboards. Explain technical information to clients to ensure high customer satisfaction when warranted.
Specific Job Duties
Management of the production team members work schedules, performance evaluations, training, and discipline when necessary
Ensures all documentation necessary for regulatory compliance is completed and accurately. Ensure production processes are being carried out in line with company’s regulatory requirements
Troubleshoots issues with equipment or machinery and quality
Periodically conduct reviews of the production processes to identify areas for improvements
Be proactive in identifying potential safety issues, raise awareness to team members, train for safe practices, correctly document any safety incidents. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience:
One-year certificate from college or technical school and three-years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Industrial Refrigeration background 3-5 years’ experience preferred
Certificates and Licenses:
EPA Universal Certification
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
