What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistic Coordinator position at American Pasteurization Company?
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the preparation, routing, and management of the company’s purchase orders and Bill of Ladings. Their main duties include reviewing inbound documentation and received goods, creating labels for raw materials, coordinating communication with customers, reviewing, and ensuring confirmation of Bill of Ladings, tracking and fixing shipping errors, developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized.
Key Responsibilities
Inbounds:
- Maintain communication with internal production scheduling departments to continually
- understand production capabilities and convey information back to customers.
- Schedule inbound dates and quantities, and expected outbound shipment dates.
- Work with shipping/receiving department personnel, data entry personnel, and inventory
- personnel to understand current raw material inventory and cooler/freezer storage capabilities.
- Label creation for received goods.
- As applicable, assisting the shipping/receiving and inventory department personnel with
- miscellaneous tasks.
Outbounds (HPP and Co-man):
Co-man side:
- Coordinating what needs to ship on what date using Google docs.
- Scheduling out which products go on which truck on which day.
- Making sure all permissions to ship have been acquired.
- Creating BOLs.
- Reviewing Certs, BOLs, Billing.
- When shipping quantities need to be adjusted, advise QA dept. to fix SAGE, the Cert, BOL, and physical (assembly) paperwork.
- Maintaining contact with customers, QA department personnel, production personnel, and shipping/receiving department personnel throughout the process.
HPP side:
- Maintaining the shipping calendar.
- Receive and review documentation from QA department prior to shipment.
- Maintaining contact with customers, QA department personnel, production personnel, and shipping/receiving department personnel throughout the process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated, personable, and a team player.
- Required to be organized and analytical with excellent record keeping and documentation skills are required.
- Preferred Bilingual (English – Spanish).
Physical Demands:
The work environment for this role includes both office work and plant floor work. The conditions in the office will include time using the phone and the computer while sitting. The plant floor environment will expose this individual to regularly moving mechanical parts and forklifts.
