Position Summary:
The Quality Control Manager will work to ensure the FSQR team collaborates with the operations team to meet the necessary process standards and regulatory requirements. This includes anchoring the roles and responsibilities within the FSQR team as it relates to overall operations support, from raw materials to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the APC and its stakeholders.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides indirect leadership and mentoring of the FSQR staff and is responsible for their development and performance pertaining to QC activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees and enforces quality control standards to ensure that products meet all established quality and safety criteria.
- Develops and implements standard testing protocols and evaluates processes to ensure production meets standards and specifications.
- Supports the assessments of test results and approves recommended changes and process improvements.
- Periodically reports the status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.
- Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
- Trends QC-related data, such as: product micro results and product pH, brix, and viscosity.
- Contacts and manages customers relationships from a production perspective – includes addressing non-conformances with product and process.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science or related industrial, scientific, or business field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience preferred.
Physical and Environmental Working Conditions:
The work environment for this role includes both office work and plant floor work. The conditions in the office will include time using the phone and the computer while sitting. The plant floor environment will expose this individual to regularly moving mechanical parts and forklifts. The environment is ventilated, air conditioned, damp, and with vibrations. Employees are required to wear the following protective equipment: hair/beard net, steel toed boots (or equivalent), and eye wear. Hearing protection is optional.
