Cyber Security Analyst

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for IT professionals, including those with help desk or technical support backgrounds, who have developed a passion for cybersecurity and are ready to transition into a dedicated security role. If you've been the go-to person for security concerns in your IT support role and are excited about focusing your career on cybersecurity, we want to talk to you. In this position, you'll have the opportunity to work across multiple security domains, from incident response to penetration testing, while helping to protect our organization's digital assets and users.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Monitor and respond to security alerts from multiple platforms including: SIEM alerts, EDR alerts, MDR alerts, and Entra ID Identity Protection alerts.
  • Evaluate and respond to potential phishing threats
  • Manage and support security awareness training programs
  • Deploy and maintain security tools and agents across the environment
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Python
  • Create and maintain security documentation
  • Support and mentor junior team members and interns
  • Assist users with security-related inquiries and concerns
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory user accounts and permissions
  • Provide technical support using remote management tools
  • Assist with internal penetration testing initiatives including:
  • Vulnerability scanning and assessment
  • Security control validation
  • Documentation of findings
  • Remediation recommendations

Qualifications and Skills

Technical Skills:

  • Security monitoring and incident response
  • Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms
  • SIEM technologies
  • Microsoft Azure security features
  • Active Directory administration
  • IT ticketing systems
  • Remote support tools
  • Vulnerability assessment tools
  • Basic penetration testing methodologies
  • Network security concepts

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of IT experience with at least 1 year handling security responsibilities (including security duties as part of help desk or IT support roles)
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems and ticket management
  • Proficiency in Windows OS administration and Active Directory management
  • Experience with remote management and support tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience documenting technical processes and procedures

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or related field
  • Security certifications such as CompTIA Security , CySA , Pentest , or equivalent
  • Experience with security awareness training and user education
  • Familiarity with SIEM and EDR solutions

Work Environment

  • Full-time, in-office position with potential for hybrid work arrangements in the future
  • Occasional after-hours incident response may be required
  • Collaborative team environment with opportunities for mentoring and knowledge sharing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
