WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Director, Practice Implementation, you will:
Provide Day-to-day Management and Oversight of the Practice Implementation Team
- Assist with Practice Implementation Department budget development
- Manage team members to ensure that day-to-day/ongoing operations of the Practice Implementation Department are carried out efficiently and effectively
- Provide input and support in departmental and organizational strategic planning initiatives
- Assist with training and onboarding of team members, when applicable.
- Review, update, and create standard operating procedures for interdepartmental processes, when applicable.
- Provide oversight as the project manager of practice implementation resources, programs or projects, when applicable.
- Coordinate with other Departments within APhA as needed to ensure operational efficiency in the production of Practice Implementation resources
Develop Strategy For and Create Practice Implementation Content
- Assist SVP, Education & Business Development with development of Practice Implementation strategy
- Coordinate with other Practice Implementation team members to lead the development of Practice Implementation content
- Develop practice implementation resources
- Identify and recruit subject matter experts; cultivate network of key opinion leaders.
- Recommend the optimal modality for delivering content based on project budget, goals and timeline.
- Review existing resource content and determine scope of revisions and/or needs for additional resources.

Experience and Education required:
- A Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent degree is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of pharmacy practice and management experience is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of management/supervisory experience
- Current active pharmacist licensure and pharmacy practice experience is preferred.
- Completion of pharmacy residency or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Pharmacist board certification is preferred.
- Pharmacy professional association involvement and leadership is preferred.
Skills, knowledge, and abilities required:
- Ability to manage a small team with direct reports
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects in a timely fashion, and adhere to deadlines and project plans effectively
- Demonstrated success working within a team and leveraging individual expertise
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience in performing environmental scans and assessing practice needs
- Strong customer service and collaboration skills
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Excellent time management skills
- Demonstrates creativity and innovation
- Ability to relate to and interact with a wide variety of professional audiences
- Ability to facilitate meetings, roundtables, and group discussions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications
- Experience with volunteer leadership preferred
- Ability to travel
LOCATION: Washington, DC – Hybrid, two days a week in the office (Tuesday & Thursday)
