Cost Accountant WA

Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and operational expenses.

• Prepare cost analysis reports to support budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Monitor and analyze variances between actual and standard costs, and recommend corrective actions.

• Develop and implement cost accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls.

• Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.

• Perform inventory audits and support inventory management processes.

• Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities.

• Prepare reports on product profitability, margin analysis, and cost trends.

• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Controller.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics NAV, SAP, Oracle).

• Knowledge of cost accounting methodologies in manufacturing or construction industries.

• Familiarity with inventory management and control processes.
