What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wardrobe Assistant position at American Place Casino - Waukegan, Illinois?
Assists with the daily operations of the Wardrobe department. Issue and collects uniforms from employees.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide excellent guest service by responding to requests for information;
- Greet all vendors, employees, and guests entering the wardrobe department in a professional manner;
- Responsible for tracking paperwork related to all uniform assignments/changes;
- Issue tagged wardrobe and track according to departmental procedure;
- Assist with tracking of department inventory;
- Daily clerical duties;
- Out processing termed employee’s items and ensuring paperwork is completed and/or monies are collected for unreturned items;
- Check and repair returned uniform items for re-issue;
- Assist in planning and helping at employee/community events if needed;
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality;
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School/GED;
- 1-2 years’ related experience
Preferred:
Bilingual a plus
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Computer, telephone, copier, fax, and Sewing Machine knowledge
Office environment
Subject to outdoor temperatures
Exposure to smoke, bright lights and noise at times
Able to lift, carry, and move/push a minimum of 30 lbs.
Ability to handle electrical equipment, fumes, and odors
Manual dexterity as required for sewing, mending, and handling fabrics
Must be able to work at a height of 3-12 inches above floor level as necessary for alterations, operating sewing machines, steamers, and iron
