Description
The Lead Trainer plays a vital role in the onboarding and training of newly hired employees at American Plastics. This position will report to the Shift Supervisor and will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- To provide training to all newly hired Press Operators on the shift.
- Fills out new hire training packets properly and thoroughly in a timely manner.
- Performs checks on quality and proper counts for shipment.
- Acts as a Relief Operator by breaking press operators, supplying operators with necessary equipment or supplies, and covering vacations.
- Works as an operator if production needs are in demand.
- Performs other diversified tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management.
- Will be the point of contact for team members that need additional training, or those who need training on new products.
Expectations:
- Showing up on time and consistently for the schedule assigned (including overtime) and maintains good attendance. Trainers should never exceed 4 points.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude, dressing appropriately for the role, and interacting with colleagues and clients in a professional manner. Attends all scheduled meetings.
- Promotes teamwork by collaborating effectively with colleagues, assisting when needed, and contributing to a positive team environment.
- Must adhere to all safety procedures & help promote a clean and safe work environment.
Available Shifts:
- Days: 7am – 7pm
- Nights: 7pm – 7am
Fixed Schedule:
All (4) shifts are scheduled 2/2/3. This schedule gives you a 3-day weekend every other week!
The schedule pattern consists of four, 12-Hour shifts who work two days in a row, get two days off and then work another three days, which results in only 14 working days each month!

Requirements
- Previous training experience in production/manufacturing preferred.
- Preferred knowledge of plastic resins, colorants, materials, corrugated cartons and all parts that are used in the manufacturing of finished goods.
- Excellent English communication skills are needed to effectively communicate and document training.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Eligible to work in the United States of America
- PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREEN & AUTHORIZE BACKGROUND CHECK
- Must be able to work a 12-Hour Shift
- Able to stand for extended periods of time, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. and up to 80 lbs. team lift.
