Installation Tech/Delivery Driver

American Portable Air, one of the fastest growing regional specialty rental companies in the US. is offering an excellent opportunity for a Installer/Delivery Driver focusing installation and delivery of Spot Coolers, portable heaters, dehumidifiers and air scrubbers. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is ambitious, flexible, and eager to learn our products and services. We are a rental company providing 24 hour delivery service to its commercial customers. Install applications of portable spot cooler units include office spaces, hospitals, computer rooms, warehouses, special events, and much more. Good driving and background record a must. No HVAC experience needed. Will be required to cover on call duties. Extra compensation for any after hours deliveries conducted. Yearly driving bonus. Yearly raise based on performance. Delivery vehicle will be provided at branch location. We are a drug free company and must pass a drug test before employment. Position Objective:

American Portable Air is a 24/7 rental company. Mainly responsible will be delivering, installing and pickup of equipment including light install of portable cooling systems to commercial, industrial and special event customers. Deliveries will be primarily performed in the counties of Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and St Lucie.

Position Responsibilities:

• Job Requirements Education and Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, competitive and results driven. • Clean driving record. Required To drive box truck for deliveries.
• Responsible for On-Call after-hours and weekend deliveries. Extra compensation will be paid out for all after-hours and weekend deliveries.
• American Portable Air is a Drug Free company and all candidates will be required to pass a drug test before employment.
• Ability to maneuver equipment on casters and be able to lift up to 100 lbs. • Maintains company vehicle. • Delivers and installs equipment. • Keeps track of rental equipment (inventory) and coordinates deliveries, pick-ups and service calls with customers. • Maintains warehouse and office area. • Operates company vehicle safely and maintains a valid driver's license and excellent driving record free from points. • Keeps records and maintains company vehicle. • Maintains and tracks company tools and supplies. (Broken tools should be brought to supervisor for replacement.) • Communicates professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick-ups and service calls. • Completes appropriate paperwork for deliveries, pick-ups and service calls. • Directs customers to sign appropriate paperwork. Keeps track of serial numbers. • Delivers and installs rented equipment. Trains authorized operator (and/or customer) on safe use of equipment. • Keeps track of rentals. • Demonstrates a professional and courteous demeanor to customers. • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication. Takes accurate phone messages and has a clear, professional manner when speaking with customers. • Is on call for emergency service and is available for emergency service response calls on weekends and evenings. • Cleans and tests returned equipment making sure operation and appearance is up to standards. • Successfully troubleshoots and completely understands the operation, function, specifications, capabilities and controls of any piece of rental equipment.

Compensation: Hourly pay, safe driver bonus, after Hours delivery compensation, and use of company vehicle.
