Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist with a strong background in the construction industry. This role is critical in leading HR efforts, specifically recruiting for construction roles, managing certified payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. If you have proven HR experience in construction and are passionate about recruitment, payroll management, and employee relations, we want you on our team!

Key Responsibilities

• Recruitment for Construction Roles: Lead the recruitment process for construction-specific positions such as project managers, site supervisors, engineers, and skilled laborers. Manage the full cycle from sourcing to onboarding.
• Certified Payroll Management: Ensure accurate and compliant certified payroll processing, adhering to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
• Employee Relations: Provide support and guidance on HR matters within the construction industry, including workforce management and labor law compliance.
• HRIS Systems: Maintain accurate employee records and generate reports through HRIS to support decision-making.
• Performance Management: Oversee employee evaluations and performance reviews, with a focus on improving workforce retention and engagement in the construction sector.
• Compliance: Stay up-to-date on construction labor laws and ensure the company’s HR practices are fully compliant with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Construction Industry Experience:
• Mandatory: 2 years of HR experience specifically in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction roles and recruitment needs (e.g., project managers, engineers, laborers).
• Certified Payroll:
• Mandatory: 1 year of experience in managing certified payroll in a construction setting.
• Deep understanding of prevailing wage laws, Davis-Bacon Act compliance, and relevant payroll reporting requirements.
• HR Experience:
• 2 years of recruitment and onboarding experience.
• 3 years of experience in employee relations and performance management.
• 1 year of experience using HR Information Systems (HRIS).
• Certifications:
• Certified Payroll Professional (required).
• Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (preferred).

Compensation

• Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per year (based on experience).
