Job Summary
The Elementary and Secondary PE/Health Teacher is responsible for supporting and enhancing the instructional process by implementing physical education and health programs for students across grade levels. This role involves collaborating with other educators, maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment, and fostering students physical, emotional, and social well-being. The teacher reports to the assigned supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises student behavior in the classroom, on school grounds, and during educational trips.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements comprehensive physical education and health lessons aligned with curriculum standards for elementary and secondary students.
- Supports and reinforces learning concepts and activities through engaging instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Maintains classroom and gym equipment, ensuring a safe and organized environment for students.
- Monitors individuals and groups of students in various settings, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff to integrate PE/Health concepts into the broader educational framework.
- Communicates student progress and concerns with professionalism to parents, faculty, staff, and school administration as needed.
- Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service training, and workshops to stay current with best practices and research in physical education and health education.
- Sponsors and supports student activities or organizations related to physical education and health, promoting student engagement and school spirit.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree and state accreditation and licensing required; Masters degree highly preferred.
Ongoing maintenance of all requirements regarding professional courses and in-services required.
Prior teaching experience highly preferred.
Specialized training in teaching secondary school-aged children is preferred.
