Label Finishing Machine Operator
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Label Finishing Machine Operator to join our production team. As a Label Finishing Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the operation, setup, and maintenance of finishing equipment used in the production of pressure-sensitive labels. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that finished labels meet quality standards and are completed on time, adhering to customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate label finishing machines, including slitting, die-cutting, laminating, and rewinding equipment. Ensure that machines are running efficiently and producing high-quality finished labels.
- Quality Control: Monitor and inspect finished labels for quality, ensuring they meet customer specifications and industry standards. Perform regular checks on label accuracy, alignment, and overall finish.
- Machine Setup and Adjustment: Adjust machines for different label sizes, substrates, and finishing requirements. Ensure correct calibration and settings for each production run to achieve optimal results.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify and resolve any machine malfunctions or quality issues during the production process. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and minor repairs, to ensure smooth operation and prevent downtime.
- Material Handling: Load and unload materials such as rolls of labels, substrates, and adhesives. Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or contamination.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to adhere to safety standards and company policies.
- Production Reporting: Track production output and document machine settings, material usage, and any issues encountered during the finishing process. Report any production delays or quality concerns to the production supervisor.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other production team members, including press operators, quality control, and supervisors, to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 2-5 years of experience operating label-finishing machines or similar equipment in a printing or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with label finishing processes such as slitting, die-cutting, laminating, and rewinding. Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on finishing equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and quality control, ensuring that finished labels meet customer specifications and industry standards.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods. Manual dexterity for handling small parts and machine adjustments.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly identify issues with machinery or production and take corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain high-quality output.
- Communication: Good communication skills to work with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth production and address any issues that arise.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical or trade school education related to printing or manufacturing processes is a plus.
