Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Reporting temporarily to the interim Chief Financial Officer, this position is responsible for providing leadership with financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making across the organization. This position provides analysis and recommendations to help the organization optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of processes and expenditures, including the production of various financial reports, building financial models, performing research and analysis, assisting with close processes, and monitoring related practices and procedures. This position provides support for various functions within the finance department and provides support for other departments within APH.

This position is based in Louisville, Kentucky and allows for a hybrid work schedule.

Compensation And Benefits

$100,000.00/year – $115,000.00/year | Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Essential Duties And Tasks

• Manage and mentor Senior Financial Analyst; responsible for facilitating processes, preparing reports, and providing insights.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans including capital expenditure planning.
• Develop and maintain financial models for various business units and projects.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information for financial analysis.
• Support the monthly financial reporting process, including variance analysis and management reporting.
• Assist in the evaluation of current and potential investments.
• Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform Month End Close responsibilities and analysis of financial results.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP.
• Explain variances to plan by using various resources.
• Demonstrate a proven understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Produce reports and ad hoc analysis for senior management.
• Provide support to internal and external auditors.
• Evaluate processes and drive efficiencies using critical thinking skills.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports and advise management of key drivers.
• Identify accounting problems, research solutions, and provide recommendations to manager and others. Analyze, classify, and review accounting transactions and interrelationships.
• Manage Capital Expenditures by partnering with other department leaders to complete the process that ensure that the request is sound, monitored versus a baseline, and approved.
• Provide support to finance and other teams for the projection and budget process, including planning ownership of specific key drivers.
• Provide financial support to departments in the form of collaborating, reporting, planning, analyzing, and tracking actual expenditures.
• Ensure systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies, GAAP, SOX and other applicable controls.
• Propose, recommend, and implement changes to improve financial and accounting processes and reports, with a collaborative approach. Role may include business lead or team member as required.
• Create process documentation for training and ongoing support, educating others in new processes.
• Design, develop, and implement forward-looking financial models, key analytics, new business scenarios, and ad hoc analyses to further support improved financial performance.
• Participate in system reviews and testing and provide support for system implementations and migrations.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications – Experience – Training

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA, CPA, and/or CMA preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in accounting and/or financial analysis.
• 5 years’ experience in management.

• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and concepts.
• Working knowledge of ERP software.
• Root cause analysis skills demonstrating ability to identify potential risks and opportunities as well as appropriate follow-through action.

• Have a big picture view of the Organization, while being able to dig into details when needed.
