Tool & Die Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tooling and die fabrication, with experience in operating various machinery and tools.

The Tool and Die Maker will work closely with engineers and production staff to develop and maintain tooling for stamping presses, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, develop, and build dies.
• Operate machinery including lathes, milling machines, and other hand tools to create precision parts.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to understand project requirements.
• Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure accuracy in component specifications.
• Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve existing tooling designs for enhanced efficiency.
• Perform quality checks using calipers and other measuring instruments to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role.
• Proficiency in operating stamping presses, lathes, milling machines, and hand tools.
• Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, GD&T, and fabrication techniques.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks is preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or vocational training is a plus.
