What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator position at American Products, Inc. (API)?
American Products, Inc. (API) is a manufacturing and fabrication company that produces Division 5 (Railings, etc.), Division 8 (Storefront/Doors), and Division 10 (Canopies, Partitions/Bathrooms) products. Our impressive customer base includes, but is not limited to Panera Bread, Chipotle, Aldi Grocery Stores, Forever 21, H&M, Gucci, Old Navy and more.
Join our team as we add a knowledgeable and detailed Division 8 Project Coordinator. You will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting architectural drawings to identify proper scopes to bid and prepare cost estimates and then manage projects. Will preferably have either Division 8, Division 10 or Division 5 experience. Fenestration, glass, glazing, storefront exp. is a plus. However, we will train.
Project Coordinator - Division 8 Responsibilities:
- Coordinate projects from beginning to end with storefront, fenestration, glass and glazing, sheet metal, panel systems, door hardware, canopies, sunshades, etc.
- Work with the clients on material needs, etc.
- Create paperwork as needed for orders, order revisions, change orders, etc.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, shop drawings and details as required
- Conduct simple material takeoffs on architectural drawings
- Work with purchasing dept. to obtain quotes from vendors and negotiate pricing.
- Provide detailed proposals and accurate bid packages in a timely manner
- Work with internal teams such as sales, project management, and bid coordination to discuss additional or existing pre-qualified scopes
- Participate in bid submittals.
- Work with engineers and others as needed
Project Coordinator Requirements:
- 1 years’ experience in building materials / Division 8 / Fenestration / Construction preferred but not required
- Knowledge of various types of division 8, division 5 and/or division 10 architectural building materials such as, Storefront systems, Canopies, Awnings, ACM, Handrail, Asset Protection, Fenestration, Storefront, Door Hardware, Restroom Partitions & Accessories, preferred but not required
- Ability to read blueprints preferred
- Ability to self-motivate, work proactively and be an effective team player.
- Strong mathematical skills required
- AutoCAD drafter experience a plus but not required.
- Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Exactimate, or other construction and or estimating software a plus but not required.
- Engineer experience a plus but not required.
