Get Ready is an innovative campaign that uses new media and tools to creatively convey the importance of preparedness to the general public. Major highlights of the campaign include a national Get Ready Day, held the third Tuesday of each September; Get Ready: Set Your Clocks, Check Your Stocks, which encourages people to check their emergency stockpiles when they change their clocks for daylight saving time; and the Get Ready photo contest and tips calendar. A Get Ready intern will have the opportunity to support APHA's and Get Ready’s social media tools, such as Twitter and YouTube. Work will also include writing blog posts, designing infographics and recording and editing podcasts for Get Ready. Interns may conduct research and analysis to develop factsheets, shareable tools and other educational resources on a variety of emergency preparedness and emerging infectious disease issue areas. Other responsibilities may include attending relevant briefings and seminars.Qualifications
