What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Well Driller Assistant position at American Pump & Drilling?
American Pump & Drilling is a fast-growing local business looking for a self-motivated and reliable individual who enjoys working hard to join our team. APD has physical locations in Ucon, Idaho; Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Afton, Wyoming, and specializes in delivering water. This position will be based out of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities include:
- Assist Primary Driller with Drilling operations
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks
- Can lift 50 pounds safely throughout the day
- Move equipment to and from drill sites
- Assist with water well development
- Assist with Rig Repair and Maintenance, as needed
- Cross-train into other job functions, as needed
Desired Skills:
- Exposure to Drilling is a plus, but if not, a mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and work hard will be considered
- Exposure to air rotary, mud rotary, reverse circulation and flooded reverse rotary drilling methods a plus
- Welding and cutting experience a plus
- General mechanic skills a plus
- Willing and able to receive on-the-job training
- Willing to adhere to strict safety rules and regulations
- Willing to work overtime as needed to complete projects and meet deadlines
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Class A CDL beneficial, Tanker and Combination Endorsements a plus
- MSHA Certifications a plus
