Travel Pathologists' Assistant - Contract Position
Location: Columbus, OH 43210
Duration: 13 Weeks
Working Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Travel Package: $3230
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pathologists' Assistant to join our team on a 13-week contract. In this role, you will support pathologists by performing critical tasks to ensure the accurate and efficient diagnosis of specimens, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality in the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist pathologists in the preparation and examination of surgical specimens.
• Perform gross dissection and detailed analysis of surgical specimens, including complex cases.
• Prepare tissue samples for histological processing.
• Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and tracking of all specimens.
• Conduct postmortem examinations, including evisceration and organ dissection.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to established protocols.
• Follow safety and quality control guidelines to ensure precision and accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with medical staff and laboratory teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality control procedures to maintain high standards.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or a related field.
• Completion of a Pathologists' Assistant program accredited by NAACLS.
• Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is preferred.
• Proven experience in a clinical or pathology laboratory setting.
• Expertise in gross dissection and histological preparation techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
