POSITION AND SCOPE
American Recycling is looking for a sharp, self-starter to join the team as an Outside Sales Representative. This individual will support the growth of the company by locating new sales opportunities in the Central Valley, with a focus on selling our products and services to a diverse market.
DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support company operations by maintaining and increasing the density of our customer base in the Central Valley.
- Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing and potential customers to meet their needs.
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
- Prospecting cold calls through phone and/or email communication.
- In-person or virtual meetings with existing and prospective clients.
- Research customer leads.
- Maintain and expand current customer relationships.
- Attend and network at tradeshows and/or other events.
- Coordinate sales efforts with team members and department heads.
- Conduct facility tours and offsite meetings with existing and prospective clients.
- Negotiate pricing and prepare quotes and contracts.
- Present, promote, and close new business with existing and prospective clients.
- Any other duties as assigned.
SKILLS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Undergraduate degree in Business or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in inside and/or outside sales.
- Previous experience in the recycling or waste management industry is preferred.
- Ability to build productive professional relationships.
- Highly motivated and target-driven with a proven track record in sales.
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Capacity to drive to visit current and prospective customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of changing situations.
