We need more people to give their time to neighbors who suddenly need help. When families are left scrambling during disasters, our American Red Cross teams are determined to help them get through the night, then take the first steps toward recovery. That work involves coordination among many volunteers who pull together the necessary resources to respond to an emergency and follow-up for support.
Position Disaster Action Team Member (IN-PERSON RESPONSE)
Disaster Action Teams provide 24-hour emergency response to natioanl and local disasters, particularly house fires, and potential floods ensuring those affected have access to food, shelter, and clothing.

Position Disaster Action Team Member (IN-PERSON RESPONSE)
Disaster Action Teams provide 24-hour emergency response to natioanl and local disasters, particularly house fires, and potential floods ensuring those affected have access to food, shelter, and clothing.
Key Roles
- Respond to disaster scenes and other emergencies to assist those affected.
- Interview and assist individuals and families with their disaster-caused emergency needs
- Operate shelter/evacuation centers, provide mass feeding and distribute relief supplies.
- Attend training classes on an ongoing basis.
- You need to be technologically proficient. Specifically in the use of smartphone apps and desktop software.

Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Willingness to interact with potential clients, often in high-stress situations
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility to respond to disasters on short notice
