Key Responsibilities
- Per Red Cross policies, maintain strict confidentiality of all case notes and personal information.
- Consistently and accurately apply Service to Armed Forces (SAF) policies, procedures, and protocols related to Red Cross client services.
- Support emergency communications, provide financial assistance, and offer additional services as needed. This includes following up with families, military members, or others to ensure their needs are met and taking further action as required for comprehensive and timely client service.
- Provide appropriate services to clients, including referrals within the organization and to other agencies.
- Uphold professionalism and conduct as outlined in Red Cross policies.
- Stay current with all required casework training.
- Reliable access to necessary resources, including a phone, personal computer, and internet connection.
- Vital customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to treat individuals with respect in all situations, fostering trust while upholding the values and principles of the American Red Cross.
- Proficiency in active listening, empathy, and compassion, along with the ability to employ reasoning and questioning strategies to capture, analyze, and interpret information from clients, staff, and management.
- Competence with computer applications, including Internet search tools and the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and word processing.
- Practical interviewing skills, sound telephone and in-person etiquette knowledge, and a friendly, respectful demeanor.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
