American Refrigeration Company (ARC Mechanical) was founded in 1996 and is the largest independent industrial refrigeration service company in New England. ARC provides services for refrigeration and air conditioning system design, alternative refrigerant evaluation, product freezing/cooling response evaluations, energy studies, and computerized plan performance evaluations. ARC also provides construction and equipment maintenance and repair for other industrial and commercial refrigeration and HVAC needs.
ARC prides itself in the installation of world class systems for leaders in the food and beverage, cold storage arena, pharmaceutical, and process industries. ARC provides full-service capabilities including design, installation and after-market services. Recreational refrigeration applications include artificial ice surfaces for various sporting activities including hockey and skating
The Estimator will support the company’s Engineering, Sales and Project Management departments
Under specific direction from the Director of Engineering, the Estimator will also be responsible for job costing.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONISIBILITIES:
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, & related documents.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares estimates by coordinating with multiple subcontractors
- Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
- Building and maintaining healthy relationships with key vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, project managers, team members
EXPERIENCE WORKING KNOWLEDGE:
- Proven track record in a similar position
- BA in Engineering, Construction Science or related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of field or internship experience preferred.
- Strong written and communication skills
- Working knowledge of subcontractors and MEP experience
- Strong people skills and attentive to details
- Experience working in a high demand fast paced industry
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam and AutoCAD
- Availability to travel throughout New England and the Northeast region
- High-level problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage shifting priorities
