Senior Accountant
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
Since 1998, American Refrigeration has provided refrigeration services (maintenance, repair, replacement, design/build, and parts distribution) to cold storage, petrochemical, food production, and other industrial customers. Headquartered in Jacksonville, the company is approximately 120 people and growing quickly. In 2023, the company was acquired by CIVC Partners who remains committed to the continued growth of American Refrigeration for the future.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of the Financial Statement package.
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Analyze the Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts for accuracy.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger.
- Review periodic reports of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and correct errors prior to close of accounting period.
- Oversight of Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable processes to ensure they have been accurately coded and recorded.
- Research, analyze, identify, and explain any variances or unexplained items on the Income Statement and changes on the Balance Sheet.
- Assist independent CPA audit firm in their audit and review of financials.
- Assist in analysis and posting of end-of-year audit adjusting entries.
- Prepare annual excel budget worksheets as needed for reporting.
- Provide assistance and guidance to Management team answering questions regarding monthly Financial Statements and other related matters.
- Assist in the preparation of key performance indicators on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- May provide guidance, direction, and input to lower-level accounting staff.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct business always with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.
- Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules.
- May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
- Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
- Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 plus years accounting experience.
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals
- Experience with Percentage of Complete accounting preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
· Desire to take ownership and personal responsibility for assignments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to handle a variety of tasks.
- Self-motivated; demonstrated interest in taking initiative, anticipating needs, carrying projects through completion with minimal direction, and working with a high degree of urgency.
- Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and produce high quality work in a deadline-oriented environment.
