Manager of Technical Services
Summary/Objective
The Manager of Technical Services is responsible for coordinating technical and building services at dialysis clinics. The position exercises considerable judgement in applying professional knowledge in solving problems within established policies and practices and updating policies and practices as necessary.
Essential Functions
- Must be knowledgeable in AAMI Guidelines, State specific and Federal Medicare Regulations and work with facility staff to implement regulations in new, acquired, managed/existing facilities.
- Keeps abreast of State and Federal regulations.
- Maintains compliance of technical policy and procedures.
- Performs technical audits in the facilities to ensure full compliance of technical related regulatory (Federal, State, OSHA, FDA, AAMI, etc.) and technical compliance.
- Assists in developing technical related Plan of Corrections for internal and external audits/surveys.
- Participate in State/Federal surveys and audits. (Such as CMS, Life Safety, OSHA, DHEC, etc.)
- Implements and complies with IRC/ARA Technical policies and procedures in new, acquired, managed and existing facilities.
- Acts as a technical resource for technical and clinical staff.
- Participate in the orientation, initial training, and ongoing training of facility technical employees.
- Provide technical support if there is a FTM vacancy. Ensure compliance of facility is maintained.
- Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on all medical equipment such as Reverse Osmosis, Dialysis machine, EMR system, etc.
- Assist with Physical plant repairs and plan of corrections.
- Assist with troubleshooting inventory discrepancies.
- Assists with the revision of technical policy and procedure manuals.
- Monitors and tracks semi-annual AAMI water testing, Monthly TQM reports, Monthly Inventory reports, Quarterly financial goals (Schedule A and B.)
- Maintains an effective working relationship and utilizes good communication skills with ARA/IRC staff, Medical Directors and National Medical Director.
- Assists with other projects as requested by ARA managers.
- Ensures HIPAA Compliance.
- Assists with ordering, set-up contracts with vendors, facility set-up and initial validation processes for De Novo, expansions and acquisitions facilities.
- Reviews and monitors technical operation cost.
- Participates in scheduled integration meetings.
- Completes and submit corporate technical reports and quarterly compliance reports.
- Communicates technical operations and clinical related issues with Regional VP of Operations, VP of Technical Services, Director of Technical Services, Clinic Managers and Medical Directors.
- Works with Regional VP of Operations on supplies and cost analysis.
- Reviews and monitor technical financial goals with FTMs.
- Participates in recruiting, hiring, performance evaluations and disciplinary procedures with technical staff as requested.
Position Type, Expected Hours of Work & Travel
This is a Full-Time position. Days and hours of work may vary based on the needs of the region. Some travel may be expected for this position, including overnight outside of the local area.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of technical and management experience in dialysis. Experience must include dialysis machine maintenance, water treatment systems and associated regulations.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with dialysis survey process.
- Basic computer skills.
