Job Summary:
The Quality Director is responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining processes and practices within the quality management system that help the organization achieve the highest quality standards possible and minimize product defects. Supports the Quality and Environmental Management Systems business and production processes to meet internal/external customer requirements. Leads Quality Engineers to support the manufacturing locations with customer and supplier management. Supports the manufacturing locations with the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
Essential Functions:
- Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
- Review, report and improve quality performance (customer satisfaction, quality cost, process performance data etc.) and provide strategic direction to improve quality performance.
- Support plants in resolving quality problems and provide on-site leadership.
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Leads the APQP process and Advanced Quality effort.
- Support new programs with QMS standards, APQP, FMEA and participate in improvement initiatives.
- Manages customer scorecard processes and drives improvement activities with the manufacturing locations.
- Supports the internal audit team with AS9100/ISO14001/NADCAP internal audits.
- Supports customer and third party AS9100/ISO14001/NADCAP based audits.
- Foster collaboration among stakeholders and align organizational and customer goals.
- Applies statistical methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
- Oversee quality organization structure and ensure adequate resources for training, onboarding, sharing best practices
- Lead Quality Manager meetings and review best practices.
- Analyze data to identify risks and initiate improvement projects by developing and executing long-term progressive strategy to ensure the Quality function becomes increasingly proactive.
- Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Works with Plant Managers to oversee the schedules and responsibilities of management-level staff in the Quality department for all locations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
