Job Title: Plant Manager
Department: Production
Summary Sets and communicates goals, strategy and company deliverables to the responsible teams and departments. Directs safety / environmental compliance strategy and ensures that safety and environmental objectives are being met. Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in planning, organizing, directing, and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations, increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards. Responsibility for production output, product quality and on-time shipping by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Production, CNC Machining and Assembly Departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Ensures company goals and strategies are being executed and achieved. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include safety, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensuring employees are following all safety / environmental rules and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensures all safety / environmental requirements are being met and are being followed according to rules and regulations.
- Sets and communicates goals to meet company’s overall plan.
- Work with all departments to ensure sales targets are being met.
- Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations by increasing production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
- Increase production, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Chief Operating Officer for action.
- Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Chief Operating Officer.
