Note: This is NOT a remote position - in person sample collection and lab operation are central components to the role.
JOB DUTIES
- Quality Assurance. Collect samples and perform various lab tests and report findings to assure material quality.
- State Pollution Discharge Elimination System/Multi Sector General Permit compliance assurance. Collect samples, perform calculations, and compile reports for multi-state locations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for filing with various states environmental agencies.
- Petroleum Bulk Storage permitting, compliance, and inspections.
- Water well monitoring readings, sampling, and reporting.
- Prepare various environmental plans. Prepare “as built” plans and maintain current by inspections, recordkeeping and modification.
- Maintain site compliance in accordance with the Oil Spill Preventative Control and Countermeasure Plan.
- Maintain compliance with Storm Water Management and Pollution Prevention Plans. Where appropriate, develop corrective action and contingency plans.
- Reclamation Reports for affected surface lands.
- Prepare SARA title III tier two reports.
- Maintain databases and compile routing data for updated Excel spreadsheet summaries.
- Prepare hazardous and recycled waste reports.
- Administer the companies recycling program.
- Prepare and file permit applications for stockpile locations.
- Other duties that may be assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience with environmental testing, sampling, and reporting.
- Must be able to problem solve, investigate complex environmental issues, and resolve various environmental matters.
- Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with Word, Excel, database manipulation and web based reporting systems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or a field directly relating to the job responsibilities.
Two years of experience in an environmental related position, sample collection, analytics/material testing, report preparation, regulatory compliance/permitting, and health and safety coordination are preferred.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Salary Rage: $76,000-$88,000
