What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grinder- CNC 1st or 2nd shift position at American Roller Company?
Bonell Manufacturing a division of American Roller Company has immediate openings for cylindrical grinders/finishing operators on our 2nd shift. Hours are 3-1:30am Monday-Thursday. We also have an opening on 1st shift. Pay would be $4 less.

Position Summary: Work from job specification sheets and blueprints to grind and polish a variety of standard or special coated rollers to a specific size and finish utilizing multiple pieces of equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Insert roller into equipment and set prescribed feeds, speeds, and stops. Make operating adjustments to obtain tolerance and finish requirements.
- Select and install proper grinding wheel, belt, polishing media. Change, dress grinding wheels / belts. Balance wheels as needed.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications that relate to the work object.
- Set up and use a variety of measuring instruments such as micrometers, Profilometer, indicators, gauges, etc. Use Pro-Mic and read processing information to ensure accuracy of parts to print specifications.
- Know the proper operation, and basic maintenance of all specified equipment; inspect and change consumable parts as needed; monitor and adjust machine settings using proper procedures.
- Operate multiple machines as scheduled.
Required Experience:
- 5 years of cylindrical grinding preferred.
- Roll grinding experience with crowning a plus.
- Experience with blueprints
- Experience with tight tolerance
