What You’ll Be Doing:
- Set up and operate grit blasting equipment to prepare parts for proper bonding of basecoat materials, ensuring safety by using the proper respiratory equipment.
- Inspect incoming parts and maintain consumables inventory (tape, grit, wrapping paper, etc.) to prevent downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Use measurement tools like micrometers and tape measures to verify parts against print specifications during inspection and before shipments.
- Handle and transport parts using hoists, cranes, and forklifts, ensuring the safe movement and positioning of workpieces.
- Mask parts with protective tape prior to grit blasting, thermal spray, and coating processes.
- Experience with MIG/Stick and TIG welding.
- Document work performed, including time spent, part conditions, and any other required information for accuracy and quality control.
- Maintain equipment and workspaces in clean and functional condition, performing routine cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance procedures.
- Detect and report any equipment issues, defective materials, or unusual conditions to the Production Supervisor.
- Keep scrap and rework within acceptable limits while following safety and quality standards.
- Read blueprints and work instructions to ensure products are processed according to customer specifications.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires regular travel to customer sites, including paper mills and other facilities, to perform necessary work. Travel may occur weekly and can last up to a week or more, depending on the project. A company vehicle is provided, and all travel-related expenses are covered by the company.
What We’re Looking For:
- Mechanically inclined individuals with good math skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
- Experience with measurement tools (micrometers, tape measures, etc.).
- Ability to operate hoists, cranes, and forklifts safely.
- Welding experience is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.62 per hour
