SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join our Odessa, TX team to provide support on various environmental projects in the Permian Basin of Texas and New Mexico. This person will be responsible for a wide variety of environmental projects. Candidate must be highly motivated; customer focused and work well in a team environment.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The creation of reports for various types of investigations, including environmental site assessments and remediation projects.
- Manage project tasks and financials and lead junior staff during projects.
- The preparation of charts, boring logs, and cross-sections depicting subsurface conditions.
- Develop proposals including scope of work and budgetary estimates.
- Field work will include but is not limited to directing the installation of soil borings and groundwater monitoring wells, groundwater/soil sampling, site inspections, and subcontractor oversight.
- The position may require extensive outdoor work as well as extended overnight travel.
- Health and Safety assessments and audits of project sites and teams.
- Quality, Health, and Safety oversight of sub-contractors.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- BS degree or equivalent in any of the multi-disciplined environmental sciences, engineering, or geologic sciences required.
- Four to Six years’ experience in the environmental industry or related environmental consulting experience.
- Proficiency with Google Earth, Google Applications, KMZ, GPS – Bad Elf, Solocator, Smartphone, MS Word, Excel required.
- Applicant must possess excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.
- Previous experience or education with site investigations, remediation, sampling, and knowledge of TCEQ, RRC, NMED and/or NMOCD programs.
- Physical tasks include walking over uneven and vegetated terrain, carrying field equipment and coolers (up to 50 pounds), and occasional sampling activities such as hand auguring.
- Applicant must also be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment.
- Applicant must be able to drive and pass a motor vehicle records check.
- A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Proficiency with MS Office computer programs.
- Valid driver license and a clean driving record are required with 2 or fewer tickets in the past 3 years.
