Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Flagger to join our team. The Flagger will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic around construction sites, providing clear guidance to drivers and pedestrians. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Direct traffic flow around construction zones using appropriate hand signals and signage.
- Monitor and maintain a safe work environment for both workers and the public.
- Collaborate with construction crews to ensure that operations proceed smoothly and safely.
- Set up and dismantle traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barriers.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding site conditions and any potential hazards.
- Assist in utility locating as needed to prevent damage during construction activities.
- Operate heavy equipment such as front loader trucks, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, loaders, and bulldozers when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in flagging or traffic control is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus; experience with front loader trucks, backhoe operation, grader operation, dump trucks, loader operation, and Caterpillar machinery is advantageous.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as required by the job.
- A valid driver’s license may be required depending on job location and responsibilities.
- Commitment to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
- Ability to pass Drug Screen
