Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians around construction sites. This position requires a strong understanding of construction operations and the ability to communicate effectively with both workers and the public.
Duties
- Direct and control traffic flow at construction sites to ensure safety for workers and the public.
- Coordinate with construction crews to facilitate smooth operations while minimizing disruptions.
- Utilize equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, and front loader trucks as needed for site operations.
- Operate graders and bulldozers for site preparation and maintenance.
- Assist in utility locating to prevent damage to underground services during construction activities.
- Maintain clear communication with team members regarding site conditions and traffic patterns.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating various construction equipment including Caterpillar machinery, graders, backhoes, bulldozers, front loader trucks, and dump trucks.
- Strong understanding of construction site operations and safety practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate instructions and information to team members and the public.
- Experience in utility locating is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to work in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety.
