This job is a customer service position for an Export company who ships containers and roll on/roll off cargo from the USA - worldwide. There is room to grow within the company and move up the latter to make more money. Its a fast pace environment that you need to be able to multitask and be organized.
We are looking for a Data Entry Operator to input and update information on our company databases and computer systems.
Data entry operator responsibilities include transferring data from paper formats into the database systems. Typing in data provided directly from customers without mistakes. Our ideal candidate has essential data entry skills, like fast typing with an eye for detail and familiarity with spreadsheets and online forms.
You will work with the booking department and oversee their data entry to confirm all booking requests were processed properly. Previous experience as a data entry clerk or similar position will be considered an advantage.
While your primary responsibility is to oversee the data the booking department is entering, you may also respond to customer inquiries via email and telephone, help them resolve problems or direct them to appropriate resources.
Responsibilities
- Entering customer and account data from letter of intent within time limits
- Verify accuracy on orders done by the booking department, create physical file
- Review data for errors, correct any incompatibilities
- Research and obtain further information for incomplete documents
- Scan documents and print emails from customers such as new orders, status/update, or changes
- Answer telephones
- Create shipping labels for FedEx and send out original documents to customer
- Update database with vehicle status (delivered or sailed unit)
Requirements: You need excellent customer service, telephone and typing skills.
- Proven data entry work experience, as a Data entry operator or Office clerk
- Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Experience with MS Office and data programs
- Familiarity with administrative duties
- Experience using office equipment, like scanner
- Typing speed and accuracy
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent knowledge of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Attention to detail
- Confidentiality
- Organization skills, with an ability to stay focused on assigned tasks
- High school diploma; additional computer training or certification will be an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
