Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Lead to oversee daily operations within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse processes, including shipping and receiving, inventory management, and distribution center operations. This role is crucial for ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety within the warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise warehouse staff to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce errors.
- Manage inventory control systems, maintaining accurate records of stock levels and product locations.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely while adhering to company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse facility, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Train new employees on warehouse procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving warehouse productivity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a warehouse leadership role or similar position.
- Strong knowledge of AS400 systems for inventory management is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping/receiving processes and distribution center operations.
- Experience in process improvement initiatives within a warehouse setting.
- Proficient in inventory control methods and best practices.
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in managing daily operations.
