What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Perfusionist position at American Society of Extracorporeal Technology?
We are growing! Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a fifth pediatric staff perfusionist to join our dynamic team. Candidates for this position must be independent yet a team player, self-motivated, have excellent critical thinking skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
Annual surgery caseload is approximately 300 on pump procedures and 80 standby procedures. Our caseload includes a wide variety of congenital heart procedures (including adult congenital), a busy cardiac transplantation program, VAD’s, ECMO support, HIPEC procedures and cardiac cell saving services. Previous pediatric perfusion experience is strongly preferred. New graduates will also be considered based on experience. Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited perfusion program
- American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) certification or eligibility
- Illinois licensure preferred (required after employment)
- Ability to take call responsibilities and work overnight cases
