The University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (FHCC) are jointly recruiting for a full-time faculty member in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, to join our clinical research group focused on nonmalignant hematology. This position would be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank, without tenure due to funding (WOT). Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.

The selected candidates would see patients, teach, and build a related research program in nonmalignant hematology. Potential areas of research focus include hemostasis / thrombosis, geriatric hematology, cytopenias, immunohematology, and marrow failure. Teaching responsibilities would involve oversight of medical students, residents, and fellows during outpatient and inpatient clinical activities.

Qualifications :

  • MD or DO (or foreign equivalent)
  • Completion of a fellowship in Medical Oncology and / or Hematology
  • American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) eligible or certified in Medical Oncology or Hematology (or foreign equivalent)
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington
  • Demonstrated record in clinical, translational, or laboratory-based research, with a primary focus on acute myeloid leukemia or closely related conditions.
  • In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
