What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Security Technician position at American Sound?
We are looking for a Lead Security Technician to join our Covington team, specializing in surveillance and access control systems. The ideal candidate will have experience installing hardware such as card readers, Mercury controllers, electrified door hardware, power supplies, etc., surveillance cameras and associated hardware, basic cabling with ethernet and access control cabling. Proficient knowledge of basic electrical circuitry is required. Programming knowledge with software including but not limited to Genetec, LenelS2 (OnGuard & NetBox), Vanderbilt, RS2, Salient, and Axis Camera Station is preferred but not required. This role offers the chance to work with innovative security technology and provide tailored solutions for our clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining access control and surveillance systems and hardware
- Working with equipment such as door controllers (Mercury & Axis), card readers, surveillance cameras, electric door hardware, and associated cabling to ensure optimal functionality and integration
- Conduct regular system inspections, perform updates and repairs, and provide technical support to clients
- Collaborate with team members to design and implement security solutions tailored to client needs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Training clients on the use and management of security systems, as well as maintaining detailed records of service activities and system performance
Job Requirements:
- Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years experience as a security technician
- Familiarity of Honeywell, Axis, Hanwha, Pelco, LenelS2, Genetec, and/or RS2 equipment/configuration
- Ability to problem solve, be customer facing, and troubleshoot
- Possess reliability, accountability, and effective communication skills
Job Details and Compensation:
- Pay- $25-35/hr with potential bonus at year end
- Shift Time and Days- 7am-3:30pm, M-F with rare off hours
