1st Shift Monday - Friday 7:30am-3:30pm (8hr/day, 5 days/week), plus Sat. (1.5 pay)/Sun. (2x pay) overtime on a rotating department schedule every other weekend.

Job Description Summary:
The Quality Control Technician reports to the Quality Supervisor. The technician is responsible for Quality Control activities such as pulling line samples, hold samples, laboratory testing of samples (sodium, total solids, pH, viscosity, package integrity, reagents, calibrations, temperature monitoring), and other assigned duties as determined by the Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Testing:
The primary responsibility of each tech is routine finished product testing. Techs are also required to be familiar with the SOPs of the lab. Assistance with microbiological plating and analysis may be assigned to trained technicians. Environmental and Water testing will be assigned to trained technicians. Techs ensure that appropriate testing, follow up, priorities, and reports are completed in a timely manner. In the event that additional labor is required to support immediate production needs, technicians are responsible for requesting support from the Quality Supervisor.
2.Compliance/Quality System:
Knowledge of Document Control Program, Hold & Release Program, Pest Control, Water Testing. General familiarity with SQF and the HACCP Program. Ensure compliance of lab and cleanliness is maintained throughout shifts. Ensure all plant and lab equipment are properly calibrated and monitored for compliance. Ensure assigned GMP audits are completed on time each month.
3.Support:
Quality Control Technicians are responsible for supporting the activities of the Microbiologist, Supervisor, and Manager, in addition to supporting one another. Each team member is to expected to work together as a team, coordinating the workload of the lab and distribution of breaks and lunches as needed. Each tech is expected to participate in Quality meetings and pursue cross training across all tasks in the lab.
