We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Local Driver – Trainer to oversee and support relief drivers through training and supervision. This position is responsible for planning and implementing driver training programs, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and coordinating transportation logistics. The Local Driver – Trainer will work closely with the Transportation Manager to oversee the movement of all trucks and services required, coordinate with local repair agencies, collaborate with dispatch and warehouse teams to meet local transportation needs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Train and mentor new drivers, ensuring they meet all safety and professional standards.
- Supervise and evaluate driver performance, providing ongoing coaching and support.
- Develop and implement training programs, including weekly safe driving assessments.
- Promote and uphold the company’s vision of Safety, Service, and Efficiency.
- Oversee the movement of trucks and equipment between various locations.
- Maintain communication with the Transportation Manager regarding ongoing maintenance issues.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while effectively coordinating with team members.
- Ensure all interactions with employees and customers align with company values and service expectations.
- Occasionally cover over-the-road trips as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality on sensitive business matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- Proven safe driving history.
- 7–10 years of professional driving experience.
- Strong background in training.
- Experience in customer service, with a focus on both internal and external client relations.
- Ability to supervise and motivate employees while fostering a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to quality and operational excellence.
- Integrity, honesty, and leadership by example.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Position Type:/Expected Hours of Work:
- Schedule: Full-time, primarily Monday–Friday with occasional weekend shifts as needed.
