Job description
Ag / Commercial Lender – location, Osceola, Iowa
Reports directly to the Chief Credit Officer and serves primarily as lending officer in the Osceola office with primary duties in Ag and commercial lending. Collects information, analyzes, recommends, and approves loans within delegated authority. Emphasis in developing and servicing high quality commercial and agricultural loan accounts that meet established loan policy which provide maximum profitability to the bank with minimal risk of loss. Responsible for reviewing existing portfolio for document exceptions and correcting them. Understands and implements bank loan policy and procedures. Promotes and establishes deposit relationships. Interacts in a positive way with other bank personnel. Responsible for following the bank call program and becoming an active volunteer and business leader in Osceola, Clarke County and surrounding communities. Serves on other bank committees and/or committees as appointed by President/CEO. Works with the bank’s Chief Credit Officer to manage loan portfolio to continued high performance banking standards.
This job requires connecting with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner. The use of persuasive communication skills to gain the interest and involvement of others in the work process is an important aspect of the job.
A sense of getting work done in complete, accurate detail and in accordance with company standards and policies is desired. The motivation for this position comes from a strong sense of duty and a feeling of responsibility for completing work both quickly and correctly.
Follow-up of delegated work must be very thorough. Decision making will be done with the ideas and advice of others, but always carefully and cautiously within the guidelines of established company policy.

· Personal involvement with detail is a major focus of the job.
1. Interviews loan applicants and collects and analyzes financial and related data to determine the credit worthiness of the applicant within Bank policy.
2. Completes all loan documentation required within Bank policy including but not limited to cash flow analysis, profit analysis, risk analysis, inspections, and collateral analysis.
3. Negotiates and/or recommends the necessary terms under which credit will be extended including price, repayment plan, and collateral requirements within delegated authority.
4. Services existing portfolio of approximately $30 million in diversified loans and ensure any document exceptions are corrected.
5. Member of Officers Loan Committee.
6. Monitors loan repayment activity and takes necessary action to collect non-performing accounts on individual and branch loan(s).
7. Types own loan documentation and correspondence as necessary and has necessary computer skills or develops them to perform misc. job duties, including but not limited to ARTA processing, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Fiserv Premier.
8. Develops high quality new business opportunities by contacting prospective and current customers through the bank call program. Cross-sells bank products and participates in agreed upon incentive program.
9. Interacts with administrative leadership staff in a positive, helpful manner.
10. Works with Chief Credit Officer to perform branch loan reviews and oversight.
11. Assists other loan officers in all locations in credit analyst loan preparation as assigned.
12. Assist in carrying out the bank’s operating plan to meet performance goals and objectives.
13. Performs any Bank related duties as needed and directed by management.
14. Represent the Bank at professional, community, and social activities.
15. Carries out the strategic plans of the bank as directed by the President/CEO.
