Position Summary
The Press Brake Operator will be operating two brand new CNC Controlled ProBend E-Series Press Brakes (260 & 320 respectively). As the facility continues to grow, and new equipment is installed, the Press Brake Operator will have the opportunity to work on Plate Rolls, Plate Shears, Laser Punch Presses, and more.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of safety awareness and safety prioritization.
- Ensure that quality standards are met; champion quality ownership of work center.
- Enforce all company rules, policies, and procedures; communicate concerns with division management and/or Corporate.
- Sets up and operates Press Brake Machines.
- Use a CNC controller to input information into machine and program to produce new parts meeting specifications.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Fabricates all standard parts with customer required tolerances.
- Conduct quality inspections of parts per the Quality Plan.
- Checks height, depth and thickness using tape measure, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
- Ensure machines are calibrated.
- Monitors machine performance and output during production to ensure proper results.
- Cleans and maintains work area (daily), fabricating equipment and other tools of the trade.
- Works in a safe manner at all times.
- Ensures that all work is done in accordance with and adheres to ISO and Quality standards.
- Operating other metal fabricating machines as necessary to assist with production.
- May be required to assist in the operator, set-up, and/or training of less skilled operators.
Position Requirements
Education
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent such as a GED, is required.
- Bachelor’s or Associates Degree is highly preferred.
- Technical school and/or practical experience is highly preferred.
Experience/Core Competencies
- Minimum of 6 months experience working with Brake Press and/or a metal fabricating environment preferred.
- Ability to work independently and be part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a strong mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to read and understand customer prints, drawings, and models.
- Be self-directed and capable of prioritizing opportunities and performing multiple tasks.
- Proactive, solutions oriented.
- A quick learner and ability to communicate with a diverse clientele group.
- Good presentation skills and ability to communicate concisely.
- High energy, positive attitude, proactive problem solver.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Ability to maintain coordinated manual dexterity with mental and visual attentiveness for sustained periods of time.
- Have good depth perception and color discrimination.
