American Metals Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Receiving and Inventory Clerk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate for this position will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods in and out of our metal distribution center, and will assist with inventory control. This position requires proficiency in order fulfillment, warehouse management systems, and effective communication skills to ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments. Limited overtime required.
Job Functions:
- Generally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.
- Responsible for providing inventory control and clerical support for production of stock.
- Responsible for moving stock to appropriate locations for storage, replenishment of stock used for daily production, and maintaining records of stocked and ordered materials.
- Responsible for providing clerical support with incoming shipments to ensure its overall quality as well as proper record keeping and storage.
- Records and signs for shipments, assists with unloading trucks and/or organizes unloaded items.
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming items.
- Compares identifying information and counts, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Provides other clerical support as directed by management.
- Provides support to Sales personnel as well as assists in inventory control.
- Takes delivery of incoming facility supplies as necessary.
- Directs items to appropriate departments or areas.
- Assists with materials handling to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving area to storage or work area.
- Schedules appointments for incoming shipments with drivers and dispatchers.
- May maintain and file purchase orders.
- May inspect incoming shipments to verify they include appropriate items and that each item is undamaged.
- May unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with sales department or buyer to rectify damages and shortages.
- Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
