Position: Project Engineer
Location: Cleveland, Oh
We are seeking a talented structural engineer with 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in building design. We offer the opportunity to work in a team-oriented, multi-discipline environment to produce exciting, diverse projects using state-of-the-art software. Experience designing building structures per the International Building Code is required. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing is essential. Experience using RAM Structural System, RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, and Revit Structure is highly desired. Design experience with post-tensioned concrete structures is a plus.
The successful candidate will work with Project Managers and with other engineers designing structures and producing drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis, utilizing knowledge of engineering “first principals”, for all types of structural systems and elements.
- Utilize analysis results to design gravity and lateral load resisting systems for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood buildings using various building codes
- Advance the structural engineering design, coordination, detailing and drawing production of assigned projects, providing direction, guidance, and supervision to project staff as appropriate
- Communicate with clients and other design team members verbally and in writing as needed to achieve project goals
- Prepare technical reports
- Monitor the contractor’s conformance with the structural design intent by reviewing shop drawings, answering RFIs, and performing field observation site visits
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)
- Passed either the NCEES Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam or the NCEES Structural Engineering (SE) exam (SE preferred)
- Possess engineering licensure in at least one state
- Minimum of 4 years of relative experience (Advanced degree can be considered as relative experience)
